The UK's "chief scientist", (a role I was hitherto unaware of), Sir David King called for a cull of badgers yesterday, to limit the spread of bovine TB. This led to a number of letters in today's Guardian. I can't explain exactly why, but you
have to read the letters right to the end. Jeremy Banks of Pinner, Middlesex, and the Guardian letters editor are both genii, and have my eternal admiration.
