Super-Greg Concept Site

An internet relic that appears to have been keeping it real since 2001. I'm not mocking the geocities hosting, only Super-Greg's tracksuits and moustache, after all, this site used to reside at geocities too, until an influx of visitors on Grey Tuesday forced a relocation to pro-hosting.

A vending machine for crows

Phrase of the day: "mutually beneficial synanthropy". Joshua Klein has designed a machine that vends peanuts to crows that deposit coins in it:
"So far we've trained captive crows to deposit dropped coins they find on the ground in exchange for peanuts. The next step is to see how quickly we can get wild crows to learn the system, and then how quickly they can learn it from each other.
Once we've got system down for teaching coin collection we'll move to seeing how flexibly they can learn *other* tasks, like collecting garbage, sorting through discarded electronics, or maybe even search and rescue."
My initial suggestions for expanding the program would be machines that reward wild boar for finding truffles, and pay dolphins for retrieving abalone.

Bert and Ernie - Casino

Sesame Street redubbed with Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro from Casino. This video is another one of the same scene, featuring Elmo redubbed as Pesci, and De Niro (on Sesame St) redubbed as himself. And here's the same gag but with the teletubbies. Now I just want to see the original clip from Casino redubbed with Tinky Winky and Laa-Laa's voices. Audio for all three videos motherfucking NSFW. The Usborne Book of the Future

The entire Usborne Book of the Future scanned for your internet veiwing pleasure. It came out in 1979, and in places absolutely shamelessly rips off Star Wars, 2001, and Battlestar Galactica. I had it on my bookshelf from before I could read, and its rosy vision of life in space is scarred into my subconscious.

Playboy's History of Pubic Styling

An entirely gratuitous pictorial guide to centrefold pubic hair styles 1971-2008 (NSFW). Gratuitous at two levels, since the trend could be perfectly well described as a linear decline from normal pubic hair in 1971, to no pubic hair at all now.

Nanotube - Retro flash gaming heaven

I've gone weeks without playing an online game that's even modestly entertaining, so NanoTube is more than welcome. It's a two button game, with arcade gameplay somewhere between DDR and WarioWare. It has a distinct 8-bit 80's aesthetic, including wry UK-centric jokes as featured in OG Amstrad games. Top score to beat (by me) is 33,500, for a rating of "Exceptional Monkey".
